Taking the First Step

This starter program is designed for individuals who are ready to consider exercise as a way to reduce and manage their risk factors. The 1 month (12 session) commitment will ease you into the routine and give you a chance to see what exercise can do to manage your risk factors and improve your overall health.


We will begin to show you what it takes to participate in a balanced exercise program. Modifying lifestyle and behavior patterns normally takes three to four months of routine exercise participation. After 1 month at CHIP, if you like our settings, you can decide if you would like to continue with us for 24 additional sessions in our Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention Program.

This program includes:


• Private consult of 1,5 hour to plan your individualised, safe and effective program
• 36 supervised exercise session 2 to 3 times per week supervised by our kinesiologists
• Pre and Post computerized cardiovascular age and risk assessment prior to the start of the program and
  at the end to assess your risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
• Ongoing education
• Access to the myhealthcheckup.ca ehealth site to track your progress
SCHEDULE: one hour classes are offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with a ratio of 8 participants for 1 kinesiologist

All our supervised programs start with a medical evaluation and a stress test if needed. Follow-ups for 1 year upon completion of program are also available. All medical visits are covered by RAMQ.
